I have been an internet marketer for several years now. There was a time when I thought I could just do whatever I wanted and eventually I could become a successful marketing entrepreneur. Everyone was preaching the same things ie: build a list, build a website, promote here promote there, and to a degree these statements and suggestions are true. Does anyone really tell you how to really get good at list building and promotion?
There are actually many venues on the internet where you can get good responses to your online venture. Safelists come to mind as a good example of marketing your products and services . Google’s Gmail is an excellent e-mail account to help with safelist advertising, no e-mails are blocked or bounced due to full e-mail accounts. You can read other marketers ads and recieve credits to promote your own offers to the list. The most important things to consider when marketing in these forums are your subject line and your ad copy. A good subject line will entice others to click on your ad and good copy will keep them reading and will peak their interest to click on your offer link. The use of certain trigger words can also help to improve your conversion rates. Keep the content relevant to your website or offer, this keeps your visitors from feeling like they were tricked into visiting your site or offer.
Give something of value to your prospective customers, offer them an e-book or download that you were impressed with, obviously if you were not impressed don’t try to give something worthless and expect value in return. Give these items in return for a subscription to your newsletter or publication. this is a very simple technique for begining to build your list of customers. Information that is of value is at an all time high as far as the premium being paid by most marketers on the internet today.
Take the time to answer all queries in a reasonable amount of time, the quicker you respond to your clients the better they will feel about dealing with you. make time to help them to duplicate your techniques, an active downline is a happy downline.

I think safelists are useful but only if you use a reverse marketing technique. Sending ads to safelists is next to useless as no one reads them
But if you respond and correspond with others advertising through safelists then you have a chance.

Hani,
I agree with you to a certain extent, solo ads work well depending on the e-mail content and the subject line. Free ads require these components also.
I personally have opened and read many e-mails posted to safe lists where I am a member. It really all hinges on the writers ability to catch the readers attention.
Obviously when you are posting ads to other members that are hoping to produce a sale themselves many of your ads will be passed by for the sake of gaining more credits for their advertising. The flip side of that coin is…. The people you are advertising to are in the same market as you , if you do not continue to post on a regular basis your name will not be recognized. You have to have something unique to say. Branding yourself is an extremely important factor of succeeding on the internet.
